baldur's gate best party combination
Two of the NPCs in particular are geared for an evil party. I try to choose my companions by taking only those with the same alignment as my Gorion's Ward or one that's a direct neighbor to it. Interesting the 2nd mage-thief. You still will be limited to armor and weapons but you get a few unique resistances like Fire as well as Dragon Breath. BG1: Me, Jaheira, Khalid, Kivan, Viconia and EdwinBG2: Me, Jaheira, Viconia, Mazzy, Korgan and Minsc. I also like to have the guy you get in Throne of Bhaal, who shall remain nameless. One very important thing: before making the last steps in the chapter three main quest, you should have visited every location possible, taken every quest you want to take, and tried every companion you would like to see in your party. The advantage here is increasing the armor types available. :D "Jump on my sword EVIL, I wont be as gentle"!!!!
It's funny because in the early days Minsk was the best tank acording to most players and none of you considered him as an option.
Dorn practically is the answer to Keldorn and a half-orc to boot.
I am already in Throne of Bhaal in my Legacy of Bhaal run and i have a good Party :). Then you have missed something … And there are more, outside the city …
Right now, I’m deciding on giving a purely evil party a try.
I'm having enough trouble figuring out how to post at all. In your final list, who would be the 6th rotated out for companion quests? The best long sword in the game can be found at the Entrance to the Nahskel Mines in Chapter 2. After some time I just couldn't help but giggle at him. So a triple class can handle all the roles at once, emphasizing defensive magic and wearing heavier armor for the most part while dealing with annoying traps here and there.
Viconia makes a very poor substitute for this role. Neither the berserker nor kensai are effective or even able at missile weapons, so those classes are out of the question in this case. I played SoA/ToB, heavily modded, with a party of Jaheira, Yoshimo (modded so he survives past Brynnlaw - love his sarcastic quotes), Xan (squadmate mod), Minsc and Imoen, usually switching the sixth between Valygar, Anomen or Keldorn.
And yes, if you've seen my other Party Creation FAQ (for vanilla BG/ToTSC), a lot of my gripes about ToTSC/BGTutu still stand. Companions are playable and recruitable characters throughout the game.
I don't know if they're all complete, but most party conflicts are listed here on the companions' pages. Another aspect is that Nalia more than likely will not be a long term member of your party. Well, um, but....Cespenar needs good company, yes! Insect Plagues are useful, even in ToB, to disrupt enemy casters. Okay, I have to correct me: there's no real need for a second mage/thief – I forgot a little detail from the plot.
2nd.Anomen as the party's Cleric and muscle 3rd.
I don’t know what this means for NPCs like Jaheira nor Cernd but I did read that having a very low reputation will cause Jaheira to leave. Thank's wendigo211, traps and locks are not a problem since I'm a shadowdancer. Having three Arch Mages casting Time Stop in succession give you a lot of flexibility. So for those who love the half-elf ranger/cleric multiclass will have to find something to substitute for that combination. Whatever advice you have to offer I appreciate, even if I can't use it all or take it all in. Your Wizard Slayer/Thief, for instance, will remain weak most of the expansion just because he won’t be able to obtain “Use Any Item” for a while. And from what I’ve read, Imoen, despite being Neutral Good, will not leave your side. Jaheira. In the case of Cernd, he just sucks unless you decide to utilize him for the Trademeet quest. If you've never had him in your group you definitely should, there's some great dialogue to be had between him and pretty much every other group member, Imoen especially. Some other good things about Aerie, she can carry a shield, use a sling and wear a helmet.
So this class seems more for novelty than something practical. Awesome Inc. theme. Oh and btw, excellent that you started a post about Baldurs Gate! The other reason I enjoyed this party is that I started them – the PC, Minsc, and Jaheira, at least – in Baldur’s Gate 1, playing a Tutu game. Minsc and Boo no doubt. If we're counting Baldur's Gate 2 probably my favourite combination is Mazzy and Korgan, just because of the extremely unexpected turn it takes. To me Sarevok’s value would have been far higher if he was already dual classed and being part kit (like a berserker) in combination with a mage. Six player parties should consist of either dual classed or single classed toons that would get all 16.6% XP into their level progression.
But the idea is to provide a highly specialized bow wielder firing shots to disrupt enemy spell casters from afar. I like her personality more than the other cleric/druid options. Baldur's Gate companions Edit Recruitment Edit.
Party make-up was/is one of my favorite parts to obsess over. Your party can only contain 5 of the possible 28(!!) My actual party is: Me (shadowdancer), Minsk, Anomem, Jaheira, Nalia and Neera.
Goes a priest.
If I wasn't so into D&D, and hadn't been there when the game first came out, I probably wouldn't "get it" either.
Viconia.
Though I admit my ignorance in the game, so I'm certainly not opposed to it. Take a look at the bard class infobox to see what I mean: the alignment grid there shows exactly what for me would be possible if playing a true neutral character. You can make exceptions for NPC quests but you should limit their duration just for those quests. I quite like two of the new Enhanced Edition characters too, actually. OMG KILL HER DED SO MUCH PLZ KTHNX. And you really just need a single thief at any given time. ). By the time ToB ends, she's a 25th Level Cleric, 20th Level Mage. ... You should not buy Baldur’s Gate 3 in Early Access if you want a polished experience. But she IS a very interesting character so that alone might be worth keeping her around permanently. I tended to keep my party combination relatively consistent between the two BG2 playthroughs I did.
Generally. I made a protagonist thief 9/mage Human NG and dual wields Celestial Fury and Dakkons Zerth Blade with one point in shortbows in case he needs to use ranged. Put those things together and, yes, it turns out that Baldur’s Gate 3 has multiplayer sex. I dump Jahiera after completing her romance and quests before going to Spellhold.
... Imoen, Kivan, and Garrick.
Going this route though implies losing your backstab ability down the road as you would be permanently going ranged for most of combat. At this juncture, I still would need to determine a solid mage since I’m still missing that class from my configuration. It makes for a strange progression towards the end of SoA and the middle of ToB.
