After 108 or 500 or 1,000 prostrations, believe me, you will be ready to sit down and let go! once i realized that emotions are there to be felt, not controlled or ignored, i was able to feel them a little at a time until i could fully experience them. ~ I create music and guided meditations to help you live in the present moment and become mindful.
It was funny, because the more I did that, the more I realized how fleeting my feelings were over me and I felt less and less need to control.
One thing that has helped me with this a bit is just being with my feelings. so there is "control", but not in a literal sense, you are only controlling the experience by letting it be felt until it is finished.
For me, what I realized I am really trying to control is how I feel. You do what you're doing without any residue like checking, judging, or attaching to results. The one hypothesis I have is that noticing physical sensations and feelings as an urge to "control" arises may help undo it; but that's all I've got and want to see if there are tried and tested alternatives.
