id like new characters but id still like to see maybe one or two cameos in some form I don't think they should play major roles but would still be nice to see some familiar faces.
This is one of the reasons (if I could) I would mod my game to never have to think about it again.
Gameplay Edit. I am about to finish Throne of bhaal for the first time. She's true to character, her romance is tied very well with her personal quests, she shows growth and development through it all, and overall she's what I feel is a very good character- dynamic, but stubborn in her beliefs, and she feels like an *equal* to CHARNAME, which is something I specifically like. If you slept with Aerie herself, it's over. I would actually only be interested in BG3 if it had mostly new characters only. I was a mortal, but that doesn't mean I can't have it both ways. I believe the real reason is that Charname wanted to get it on with the Solar.

Aerie's zest for travel brought the pair over much of Faerun and even further. Aerie is a female avariel and lawful good cleric/mage in Baldur's Gate II. Unlike other avariel, Aerie had no wings. And it would be canon, in my own world. Light lining gives you the support, coverage & shape you need to get going and do you.
This situation has to be handled very carefully, or you will break the romance … Lightly lined bras don’t add to your cup size & are our top pick for cozy (or busy) days. If you are pursuing a romance with Aerie, she may have less than friendly exchanges with Jaheira and especially Viconia; but this will not lead to any fights to the death or NPCs leaving the party.

Let's start off with my play style. I am romancing Aerie but it seems that I just can't finish the romance because the game is too short to have the two last romance dialog to end the romance. I really hope they make BG3, no matter what, but please, add Boo somewhere, just a Groundhog named Boo in a forest with other things and you'll go without seeing him. If I was my character I wouldn't be chasing her all across Faerun after every time we sleep *facedesk* Aerie's was almost unbearable and I wanted to strangle her every time she spoke, but at least she got over it and she and my character raised a family at the end. Allowing Aerie to die, be petrified, or leave the party may sometimes trigger a bug that ends her romance. (Tiax dies in Spellhold in BG2:SoA). Especially Bioware (as we all know). If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons! Did someone here have a way to accelerate the romancing dialog and finish the romance with Aerie (I want to see the baby!!!) They were forcibly removed from her body in order to save her life after they became diseased. But unfortunately, my alignment switched from good to neutral evil during the first part of TOB.

The story of Gorion's Ward comes to an end with the ending of Throne of Bhaal, and as such his/her companions go their seperate ways. I've played the Aerie romance at least 4 times, and have NEVER seen the baby yet. Just a little common sense much like Aerie's romance. Easy answer.Important characters can not have ultimate fate, because it would mean that their use in BG3 would be very limited. We have to remember that any BG3 is 98%-likely to be happening in contemporary Faerun, which is something like 100 years after BG2, since WotC will (in all likelihood) require it to use the latest edition of DnD (which will almost certainly be 5th/NEXT). That may work, but you can't get much higher in levels (unless it's taken away). So I have had a real beef with romance endings for many years now.

Existence is still cruel, not even the gods get to have it all, love is mortal and not eternal, yada yada... To my mind, having to choose between immortality and love still puts CHARNAME in a rather enviable position.From a FR perspective, maybe there just wasn't enough divine essence to go around?
