While Jaheria is incredibly good, I'm not -that- big of a fan so *shrugs* I usually don't take her along that often. I play 4 person parties almost exclusively, and nearly always take Jaheira for her versatility. Staves are generally a much better fit with Jaheira's druid class not to mention that the good staves be wasted otherwise. Since she's likely to off-hand Belm, I just grab several *Hardiness* skills and then stock up on *Critical Strike* HLAs. Impaler and Staff of the Ram do roughly the same amount of damage. If you stick with just daggers and scimitars then you should have lots of proficiency points left for two-weapon fighting. Weapons for Jaheira (BG2:EE) I have a multiclass fighter/thief with DW longswords+something. last 2 members for SoA are not set in stone yet but probably Haer'Dalis + Valygar or Aeris but I feel like I'm melee heavy already. I love that Staff/mace that uses Quarterstaff proficiencies. I have been using her with Scimitar or Club with a shield, but I am wondering about giving her a strength belt and dual wielding Belm with that club from Trademeet that does Acid damage. I always throw sword & board on Jahiera, because like someone said, Jahiera makes an amazing tank in this game. Then again i could use club/scimitar and shield.
What weapons would be the not (min-maxing) best, but generally wisest choice for Jaheira? ... Jaheira is the best npc tank in the game, so she should be on the front lines with a melee weapon… There's limited possibilities because multiclass and i'm not usually even reaching to level cap to get every possible proficiency point. If you have an abundance of weapon points, put two into daggers/slings so Jaheira has a form of range weapon. They use 1d6 for damage rolls, unlike halberds and two-handed swords who use 1d10. Sword and shield style is great in BG1 where enemy archers are plentiful but in BG2, most bonuses granted by shields can't rival the ones from off-hand or two-handed weapons.
