The current baseline of course takes off from the last usable BWS release, so there is still much similarity in the common parts. They will be credited to your name, so you have to be a registered user here (or at Spellhold forum) and people may contact you in case of issues. Bg2's mechanics are a joke by comparison. The tool is streamlined to serve EE game installations in a way that is up-to-date and maintainable still. Then you must create an install sequence yourself and find out about conflicts from the readme's. I'd suggest you not using the EET install tool or EE Mod Setup, or whatever is called... as it's a bit shady in what it does.
The Mod Install Tool is a derivative of Big World Setup (BWS old) which was originally created by dabus. If you are not using Windows, don't download the .exe and ask for more info, I can't give that, cause I only use Windows. They help you with that on the tool support forum. Two things concerning your reply that I unfortunately wasn't specific enough about: As amazing an idea and concept as EET is, I'm not overly fond of it. Touching on the first point in a specific way, since I don't play EET runs I play standard BGEE > BG2EE through steam installs. Enhanced Edition Trilogy EET( BG1:EE + SoD + BG2:EE ) Features Edit. In case of a change you can either add or remove mods manually, depends on the mod and where it is in sequence. )Steps (1) Navigate to your BGEE folder, skip if you want to mod BG2EE only (2) BG2EE folder (3) location for downloaded mods (4) default language selection for mods - the tool will show you all mods available for this language and install this translation. So there needs to be a fresh install of mods upon a fresh copy of the game. More specifically although purely a I-get-lazy-and-this-makes-it-easier thing, you could install certain mods like soundsets and a few other things that aren't too game altering, delete your Weidu log, backup the game (if the game has a Weidu log that isn't blank it will tell you to fresh install the game) and have a slightly-more-tailored 'base' game to work with. Worst I got is a dozen chatty NPCs talking my ear off "retroactively" when I tried a mod for more NPC dialogue. If you need to re-start during a setup, use "Start EE Mod Setup.vbs" instead. Baldurs Gate 2 would have deserved the best mod tool ever created. I don't know if you're still interested on this, but there might occur errors when trying to use the mod tool with the games in steamapps folder. (referred to as "current"), A different concept to support mod installations is tested in Project Infinity (Beta, under development). I'll give this a try then.
