This film presents a lot of useful birthing practices that are simply not talked about in the media from home births to nurse-midwife mediated hospital births. If she is like me she probably wants a low intervention birth because it is better for the health of the baby- the health of the baby is the most important thing and doctors will often err on the side of caution because its easier to just do a c-section then take the chance something will go wrong- when you think about it this way the doctors are also just looking out for the health of the baby the way they know how. There are a few other mortality rates to look at besides infant mortality rate (death in the first year).

A passionate ground-level examination of home childbirth. It's a serious and well-researched consideration of natural childbearing vs. hospital delivery that explores the larger social conditions and assumptions that shape women's choices. Its cliche but all you can do is hope for the best but plan for the worst- My baby is totally fine but I will never know if he wouldn't have been if I hadn't gone to the hospital.
